Youth Prevention Education Programs (YPU)

ARCADA provides research-based, proven effective substance abuse prevention curricula to schools and communities within the following counties: Comanche, Fisher, Hardeman, Kent, Knox, Stonewall, and Throckmorton. All curricula are on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP). Trained prevention professionals deliver a comprehensive prevention program that is 10-12 sessions and also includes "alternative" activities for the entire school and community. Currently, ARCADA Prevention Specialists are facilitating “Positive Action” for grades 1 through 12. Additionally, our prevention staff is available to provide presentations pertaining to minors and tobacco, alcohol (underage drinking), marijuana, and/or prescription drug abuse issues.
